Freedom In Singapore

I am Xeno Boy, I am the Political Savant, the owner of this Blog. I intend to pay with my blood and my brains back to the PAP what they have taken from me.

Today, I publish my first thesis on Freedom in Singapore.

In one of his seminal essays, Immanuel Kant states that there is a kind of freedom where even when you are chained and shackled in the dungeons of Hell, you remain free. Freedom because you refuse the shackling of your brain by your captors. The fact that you are imprisoned means that you are Free.

Converse to the freedom mentioned is the imprisonment when you are free to do what you want. The people are "free" to do whatever they want, they have a false sense of liberation because the system has already conditioned the inputs from which you decode the notion of freedom. Are you Free?

Zoom back to Singapore. You are free to do alot of things. You are given money, rental Government apartments, aptly termed as FLATS, but the people are Free only within the zones of freedom as programmed and coded by the PAP. This is a freedom which is the most dangerous because, this freedom shackles and chains the inner spirit. It kills the Spirit of the Full Man. You are Free but you are shackled and doomed.

Move to the Opposition. The "politicians" in this category, Mr Low, Mr Chiam and Dr Chee. You are born and bred within the PAP system. They have allowed you your little fiefdoms only because the PAP creates these buffers of false freedom to ensure that the overall chimera of democracy in Singapore remains Intact. By playing with this notion of Freedom, you perpetuate the illusion. Play politics beccause politics and politics alone can break the illusion. Politics is Illusion in excellence. Only Politics can break the political illusion of freedom created by the PAP.

The first notion of Politics is to mobilise. To first mobilise, you have to gain expertise. To gain expertise, you seek "experts". In today's world, there is this technology known as the Internet. You are global in cyberspace.

Politicians of Singapore Listen and Listen Well!! Use technology to tread where the heroes before you have Fallen (JBJ, Francis Seow, Tang my bows) Learn the first notion of Politics. Mobilise. Learn how to mobilise. Use Technology.

The spark of the circuit board can spark the numbed political self of Singaporeans.

I am Xeno Boy. I am the Political Savant.

i must say that the notion of "free" described borders dangerous. wordsmiths frequently skew our thoughts by making us focus only on one subject. why don't explain what anarchism means? do u consider the american people to be a free people?

Anarchism is a utopian anachronism. It will not and will never work.

the concept of free i espouse is not as dangerous as the freedom which you allude to.

To anonymous : You can stay anonymous and you are not lacking in courage.

How would having an identity make what he says any more true?

While putting a name to your words is admirable, remaining anonymous is not contemptible, especially if you face the threat of very real and unjust sanctions.

I agree - freedom begins and ends in the mind - it is usuallu considered in the individual context.

Liberty OTOH is (generally speaking) freedom in the social context. One can still be free even if one is physically oppressed ( as your dungeon example states)

But liberty is another thing. It deals in the social realm - where individual standards are applied in a social context. So if I believe that individual (peaceful) humans, including myself should be free, then I must (for integrity and consistency) extend this concept to EVERY OTHER HUMAN.

"Peaceful" is an important limitation. It starts with my claim: "Every individual is entitled to live his life and exercise his right to property - his own life and the products of it, if he doesn't PHYSICALLY interfere with another persons right to do the same." i.e. live how you choose, don't start violence.

I do ascribe certain labels and tags to part of myself - I'm a market anarchist (aka objectivist, libertarian, classical liberal) when it comes to politics.

Therefore I do believe a market-anarchist society is the most productive, peaceful and desirable society to be in.

Now, to prevent myself from being misquoted or misunderstood, I shall define my terms.

1. "Market" means free-market. A laissez-faire economy - in every realm: commerce, personal relationships, religion, culture, media, publishing, entertainment etc, - full, uncompromisable individual private property rights, and the uncompromising right to freedom of association.

2. "Anarchy" Is a word with negative connontations. Anarchy means "no government." Anarchy does not mean "no rules." This is an important distinction.

A free market will follow the laws of nature. Therefore the "rules" which will govern a market anarchy is that of nature - the unfettered market driven by people.

Liberty in S'pore is mighty thin. So is personal freedom if you have a close look.

Private property is only respected when the Terrorcrats in Parliament (terrorist bureaucrats) say it is. For instance: no male in S'pore OWNS his very own life. He is forcibly conscripted at a certain age, and remains "state property" until being discharged at a certain age.

The vagina's and wombs of Singapore are directly controlled by the state. Women in Singapore relinquish some of their ownership of their vaginas.

These vagina's are used to produce the National Servicemen. Also popping out of these vagina's are future female serfs - whose vaginas will also be used to further the power and influence of the state.

The income tax system changes periodically to "motivate and entice" local women to use their vagina's more effectively. So if the population stats need tinkering, the govt markets "incentives" for women to produce more babies.

Employers and employees are required by law to surrender part of their fruits of productivity over to the Apparatchiks At Commune Central.

"By law" means at gunpoint. Man made laws conjoured from arbitrary and thus flimsy reasoning. Laws which end in Violence. Force.

For e.g. if one wilfully evades CPF as an employer, one can be hauled into court. If one refuses, the men in blue with guns tend to act swiftly. If you defend yourself from their assault, say by arming yourself, the armed men will probably shoot you.

Liberty and freedom in S'pore? Are you kidding? S'pore's a DICTATORSHIP. If you get any freedoms, it is because the govt says it's ok. The important 'bit' of freedom come from one's own mind. Liberty is a non-issue. It is a dictatorship?

Why would they even be interested in liberty? That would diminish their power.

Enjoy what you can, I say. Be grateful they haven't taken THE LOT.

An important point:

"A government cannot GIVE liberty. It can only TAKE liberty away."

All the best. Keep up the good work with your Blog. Congratulations on being the first. There is little doubt in my mind that it'll be the only one in time to come.

Long before some over-paid Party Loyalist appealed "Speak up even though it jars" many S'poreans across the socio-economic and generational spectra have shared their opinion.

I don't know what this Civil Servant is thinking, but he must look on people living in S'pore as total morons. Did he ever speak to a cabbie, or take the trouble to sit with people in a kopi tiam? Or a void deck? I'll bet you he hasn't.

People have opinions, they alway will do. They make judgements, they form points of view. The trouble is the internet and blog spots didn't exist until very recently.

I do believe people want to be free. I also believe the majority of folks have a live and let live attitude.

The central question - regardless of dictatorship or whatever the political system may be... Is the society moving toward or away from a LIVE AND LET LIVE ATTITUDE?

All the best,

CHEERS

Anarchism is not utopian. It is utopian because that's what the capitalist pigs want you to believe.

If socialism is the saviour of this world, then Anarchism is the purest form of Socialism.

I admire your words and works, nevertheless.

To IMAGOD,

My oh my. I missed such a provocative comment. My apologies.

First, your obersvations of the situation in Singapore is spotless. The notion of the Terrorcrat is particularly precise. I share the same view. For me, I would like to cut the observation even finer, look for the unspoken in Singapore. And the unspoken is the political.

I assert that it matters not to me the merits of intellectual labels. I am simultaneously differing and defering from all the labels levelled against me. It does not matter.

What I see as more stimulating are some of the ideas thrown up in the comments which help refine me even as I weave a ficcione of a Singapore I wish it was rather than it is now.

You may like to look up this guy's website. Found it today:

He has researched more than anyone I know on some of the worst things a government can do to his own people.

All this is not just a Singapore problem , its a South East Asian problem , look at all the countries , most are authoriritarian governments. This type of government has failed all over the world in the long term . Also look at the ineffectiveness of Asean , everyone looking after there own needs , not the Asean community needs.
